What We Believe
St Mary's Church of England, Rawtenstall remains orthodox in its Christian faith (as defined in the '39 Articles of Faith and the historic formularies of the Church of England). Jesus is Lord of every area of our shared and private lives. We're all on a journey of repentance and transformation, it would be great to share with you on the same journey.
Rawtenstall CAP Job Club
Held here at St. Mary’s on Tuesday Mornings
10am – 1pm (including free Lunch)
Volunteer CAP trained Manager: Dorothy.                                                                 Helpers: June and Jenny with Professionals from St Mary’s Fellowship also helping in the course sessions.
We welcome all Jobseekers.
The ‘Steps to Employment’ Course is a free course with a Certificate and runs for a period of 8 weeks. The aim of the course is to motivate Jobseekers, build self confidence and develop the skills to find a job that they will enjoy and find fulfilling.
Job Club ‘Community Time’ is open for all Jobseekers. We aim for the Jobseeker to see their potential, to identify and develop their personal skills, to look for and join courses run by local Colleges, to take up a volunteering opportunity and to meet others looking for a job ‘the ultimate aim being to find a job’.
The Job Club has links with referral organisations: Job Centre Plus, Lancashire ‘Well-being’ RAFT Food Bank, Rossendale Citizen’s Advice Bureau, Credit Union, Community Links Haslingden and several more.
Once a month during Community Time we have a visiting speaking from a local organisation e.g. Credit Union, RAFT etc.
Jobseekers are also encouraged to use the Job Club IT facilities to search and apply for jobs.
As a Christian organisation our faith is very important to our work at the Job Club. Jobseekers that join us are invited to start the sessions with a prayer of blessing and are always welcome to join St Mary’s Church and community and attend events.
