The ‘Steps to Employment’ Course is a free course with a Certificate and runs for a period of 8 weeks. The aim of the course is to motivate Jobseekers, build self confidence and develop the skills to find a job that they will enjoy and find fulfilling.

Job Club ‘Community Time’ is open for all Jobseekers. We aim for the Jobseeker to see their potential, to identify and develop their personal skills, to look for and join courses run by local Colleges, to take up a volunteering opportunity and to meet others looking for a job ‘the ultimate aim being to find a job’.

The Job Club has links with referral organisations: Job Centre Plus, Lancashire ‘Well-being’ RAFT Food Bank, Rossendale Citizen’s Advice Bureau, Credit Union, Community Links Haslingden and several more.
Once a month during Community Time we have a visiting speaking from a local organisation e.g. Credit Union, RAFT etc.

Jobseekers are also encouraged to use the Job Club IT facilities to search and apply for jobs.
As a Christian organisation our faith is very important to our work at the Job Club. Jobseekers that join us are invited to start the sessions with a prayer of blessing and are always welcome to join St Mary’s Church and community and attend events.

For those special times

Holy Baptism
We are delighted if you are considering baptising your child at St Mary's Church Rawtenstall. Baptism is a way to thank God for the life of your child; whilst acknowledging that you wish to bring up your child as a Christian and to seek the support of the church.
If you are a parent, or a prospective god parent, and want to find out more about Holy Baptism, the service and what is involved then please visit the Church of England's Christening website.
If you wish to arrange a service for the baptism of your child at St Mary's please contact the Vicar, 0n 01706 215585, to arrange an initial visit.

Weddings
Congratulations!
A church wedding is a great way to celebrate a couple's life-long commitment to eachother, endorsed by their family, friends and the wider church community and witnessed in front of God. St Mary's Church would like to support you in this endeavour.
We can provide a spacious, traditional church venue with comfortable modern seating. We can arrange a choir, band, or organ music as required. For more information about how to arrange a wedding at St Mary's Church Rawtenstall please contact the Vicar on 01706 215585.
To find out more about what is involved in arranging a church wedding, planning for the big day and understanding how the church can help you please visit the Church of England's wedding website.

Confirmation
If you wish to explore confirmation, the Reverend will invite you to attend a local course to give you the opportunity to explore your faith with others who are also considering conformation before committing your life to be a disciple of Christ.
Enquiries from adults who have not been baptised are welcome, as are requests for Confirmation from candidates who are aged 11 and over.
If you wish to find out more about confirmation please visit the Church of England website, or contact the Vicar on 01706 215585.

Funerals
Funerals can be a quiet affair or involve a large gathering of people. They are an opportunity for people to share their grief, to give thanks for the life of an individual who has recently died and to commit their soul to God. St Mary's Church can arrange a funeral service, or the burial of ashes in the Churchyard to anyone from the local community, regardless of whether or not they attended church.
If you have recently lost a loved one and wish to arrange a funeral service at St Mary's Church please contact the Vicar on 01706 215585.
For more information about how to plan a funeral, the content of the service, and for a selection of comforting psalms and prayers please visit the Church of England's Funeral website.
